AI and Buying or Selling a Home?
In continuing curiosity about AI and how it might impact real estate, Lauren read some articles about how AI can impact buying or selling a home. When it comes to real estate, AI can provide some definite benefits by its ability to quickly collect and analyze data.
This provides especially true if a Buyer wants to use software that can analyze what they are looking for a home and narrow down a search to notify them when a home hits the market in those criteria. For those that have been in the market, it can be daunting and super time consuming to browse the internet and popular sites like Zillow or Realtor.com that don’t always have updated or current information.
We already use software similar to this, but AI can take it to a whole new level if used right. That being said, it takes out the human factor and a buyer might miss out on an opportunity if the focus becomes too narrow. We find a lot of ways to creatively get Buyers what they need – and AI removes that option.
We’ve also seen AI used a TON lately for writing property descriptions when homes are put for sale. As an Agent, it can be helpful as a marketing tool to spruce up the listings. However, it needs to be reviewed and edited to make sure it’s accurate. We see a lot of these that make us laugh because they use descriptive house words that don’t really apply to homes in WI.
AI can also be used for virtual reality staging and showing. Computer programs put furniture in pictures used to sell vacant houses. This can be helpful so Buyers can visualize what a home might look like with furniture. It can’t help Sellers with marketing and more showings too as homes that are staged typically sell more quickly than those that are empty. These just need to be reviewed to make sure they are appropriate and fit the situation.
AI can streamline processes and provide data and marketing tools. Lauren's takeaway is that it’s important to not rely solely on AI. There is a human element to buying and selling homes that cannot easily be replicated. Each person’s needs and situation are different. What do you think?
